Manufacturing continues to be a key industry across CFWD’s catchment area of Hastings, Prince Edward and Lennox and Addington Counties. This industry is also important to Brighton’s economy, just to the west of our area.
Throughout 2023-2024, CFWD partnered with Quinte Economic Development Commission to support workshops for employers in the industry to address the labour shortage and how to plan for their workforce needs in today’s environment. As well, tours of local Manufacturers for teachers, guidance counsellors and parents were coordinated to share the opportunities of growing careers in manufacturing, including both skilled trades and skilled occupations.
